Get ready, Abu Dhabi! The internet sensation known as One Day Choir is making its way to the capital this year. Kicking off in September and running through November, this pop-up choir concept brings together individuals from all walks of life to create beautiful music in just one day.
Experience the Joy of Singing Together
Founded by David Conway, One Day Choir is a vibrant community aimed at anyone who revels in the simple pleasure of singing with others. Each session gathers a fresh group of participants—none of whom have met before—to learn choral parts of a select song, culminating in a spectacular sing-along. “Nobody needs to be a ‘good’ singer,” Conway states, emphasizing that the event is open to all.
A Journey from Dubai to Abu Dhabi
Conway launched One Day Choir in Dubai in January 2025, driven by fond memories of making music during his formative years. The initiative quickly gained traction, with many participants travelling from Abu Dhabi to join sessions. Responding to this growing demand, One Day Choir is debuting in the capital this September.
First Session Details and Ticketing Information
The inaugural One Day Choir session in Abu Dhabi is scheduled for September 6 at The Club, Mina Sadiyat, starting at 10 am. Tickets are priced at Dhs150, which includes a live accompanist, a custom-made arrangement, and a printed pack provided on the day. Attendees will also receive a practice folder in advance to familiarise themselves with the music, as well as access to professional photos and a video recording of the event.
Presale tickets for community members will be available on Saturday, August 15 at 12 pm, while general tickets will go on sale the following day. With a maximum capacity of 150 participants, these tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
Your Day at One Day Choir
Each session lasts for three hours, commencing with warm-ups and fun vocal games. Participants will then break into smaller groups to learn their individual parts before coming together to create a harmonious choral experience. “It is not a formal choir, and it isn’t a class. It’s a social singing experience for anyone who loves to sing,” Conway explains.
With no advance rehearsals required, participants can choose their preferred song or event date without any long-term commitment. One Day Choir Abu Dhabi provides a perfect opportunity to step into the world of choral music, connect with like-minded individuals, and enjoy a spirited Saturday morning.
