UAE Set to Lead Global Artificial Intelligence Landscape by 2025

UAE Ranks Second Globally in Artificial Intelligence 2025

The United Arab Emirates has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the second position globally in the field of artificial intelligence for 2025, according to a recent report by TRG, a company specializing in data centers. This achievement highlights the UAE’s capacity to invest in modern technology and develop its infrastructure, reflecting its strong commitment to making artificial intelligence an essential part of its economic future.

UAE’s Ranking in the Global Classification

The UAE ranked second globally and first regionally among major powers in artificial intelligence for 2025, following the United States. Saudi Arabia came in third, surpassing countries such as South Korea, France, India, China, the United Kingdom, Finland, and Germany. This ranking reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to create a favorable environment for the growth of artificial intelligence technologies.

Record Numbers in Technical Capabilities

According to the report, the UAE possesses over 188,000 artificial intelligence chips, with a total power capacity of 6.4 thousand megawatts. The UAE’s ranking in this field is based on key criteria related to supercomputing, along with the activity of government companies and the regulatory framework that supports research and development. A spokesperson for the company stated, “The battle for supremacy in artificial intelligence is fought on multiple fronts, and raw computing power is just one piece of a much larger puzzle.”

UAE’s Commitment to Developing the AI Sector

The UAE’s strong performance in this ranking demonstrates that its ambitions in artificial intelligence are beginning to bear fruit. The establishment of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019 was a significant step, and the UAE was one of the first countries to appoint a dedicated Minister of Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, the country has attracted investments from technology giants such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, and OpenAI.

Innovation Strategies in Artificial Intelligence

In July, a new classification system was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which includes icons used to indicate the adoption of artificial intelligence in research and publications. These strategies reflect the UAE’s commitment to achieving its ambitious goals in artificial intelligence for 2025.
