Under the motto “Where skill meets fun,” the Sharjah Youth Foundation is actively engaging youth through its “Summer with Us 2025” program, held at its eight centers across the emirate of Sharjah. Aimed at building aware and influential generations capable of tackling future challenges, the program features 55 creative stations designed to elevate and nurture young talents. Running until the end of August, these summer activities provide participants with opportunities to develop their skills and refine their abilities, forming a unique space for creative expression.
Creating a Nurturing Environment for Youth
Shihab Al Awadi, the head of the Centers Affairs Department at Sharjah Youth, emphasized the initiative’s commitment to cultivating a supportive environment for ambitious young individuals. The “Summer with Us” program is designed to make summer an extraordinary opportunity for self-discovery, skills enhancement, and knowledge expansion, featuring activities meticulously crafted to resonate with the interests and inclinations of the youth in Al Dhaid.
Artistic Exploration and Skill Development
Participants at the Al Dhaid Youth Center engaged in resin art, learning various stages of the process. They explored precise mixing ratios and the integration of resin with other materials, allowing them to create vibrant handmade artworks. The participants showcased their talent by producing decorative pieces using this artistic technique, with other workshops ranging from glass painting to thread art, enriching their creative portfolios.
Engaging in Sports and Physical Activities
In the realm of sports, participants put their newly acquired skills to the test during a water polo tournament marked by positive competition and notable engagement. Collaborating with the Sharjah International Marine Club, they enjoyed a variety of beach adventures. Furthermore, they were introduced to self-defense fundamentals, particularly in karate, fostering a deeper understanding of sportsmanship and fair play.
Raising Awareness Through Community Partnerships
The Al Dhaid Youth Center also facilitated an interactive safety program in collaboration with the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority titled “Safety and Security.” Through this initiative, participants learned essential safety measures, including the effective use of fire extinguishers and familiarization with firefighting equipment. Additionally, the summer program included inspirational community partnerships, such as “Museums on the Road” by the Sharjah Museums Authority, which opened doors to a unique world of knowledge, emphasizing the importance of human heritage across various fields. The Natural History and Botanical Museum offered a mobile exhibit called “Get to Know the Museum,” featuring models and workshops that aimed to replicate natural environments.
This dynamic summer program serves as a platform for young individuals to explore and refine their talents through a variety of creative stations, reinforcing their potential and readiness to excel in future endeavors.
