UAE Provides Crucial Assistance to Gaza Amid Food Water Crisis

The United Arab Emirates brings hope to Gaza, playing a pivotal role in breaking the siege of food and water on its residents. The UAE is diligently working to alleviate the growing suffering caused by the humanitarian crises faced by Palestinians in the region by providing food and medical assistance, while also enhancing its efforts with sustainable projects aimed at supplying drinking water and improving living conditions for citizens.

UAE Efforts in Securing Food

The UAE continues its relentless efforts to mitigate the suffering of hunger and thirst that Palestinians in Gaza have endured for approximately a year and a half. By delivering as much food aid as possible to the region through land, air, and sea routes, as well as sustainable initiatives such as establishing automated bakeries and field kitchens, these efforts come amid the acute exacerbation of the food and water crisis in Gaza.

According to Palestinian sources, 147 people have died due to malnutrition, with data indicating that more than 39% of the population goes days without food. These figures reveal the extent of suffering in Gaza, where around 500,000 people face conditions akin to famine. However, the UAE’s ongoing support, which has not ceased since “Operation Brave Knight 3,” is considered a lifeline for many; reports indicate that UAE aid constitutes 44% of the total international assistance provided to the region.

Securing Fresh Water

In addressing the water crisis, the UAE places paramount importance on improving water conditions in Gaza. It has established six desalination plants capable of producing two million gallons daily, helping to meet the needs of over 600,000 citizens. These efforts were announced following the outbreak of the crisis, with the UAE moving to create projects to supply affected areas with potable water.

A project for desalinated water has also been announced, originating from the Egyptian side to southern Gaza, which includes the construction of a new transmission line stretching 6.7 kilometers. This project aims to serve 600,000 people by providing 15 liters of desalinated water daily for each individual. This indicates that the UAE continues to break the siege of food and water, positively impacting the lives of people in Gaza.

Sustainable Humanitarian Initiatives

The UAE has successfully operated several field kitchens, distributing hot meals daily to affected families. Additionally, the Emirates Red Crescent has implemented iftar programs for fasting individuals during Ramadan, distributing 13 million meals and supporting over 44 charitable kitchens. All these efforts significantly contribute to breaking the food and water siege on Gaza’s residents and reflect the UAE’s commitment to alleviating humanitarian burdens.

Through these initiatives, the UAE has succeeded in providing the necessary support, helping to mitigate the impact of crises on the population. This demonstrates that the UAE brings hope to Gaza, adding a tangible humanitarian touch to the daily lives of its people and showing a continued commitment to breaking the siege of food and water.
