Summer Camps for the Development of Emirati Students in 10 Fields of Programming and Artificial Intelligence
In a move that reflects the UAE’s commitment to developing youth skills, summer camps have been established to train Emirati students in 10 fields of programming and artificial intelligence. These camps aim to integrate technical knowledge with cultural heritage, contributing to the reinforcement of national identity and encouraging students to explore and learn in a systematic and interactive way.
Innovative Educational Programs
“Emirates Today” witnessed remarkable engagement from Emirati female students within the various programs held in collaboration with scientific, academic, and community institutions. These programs are designed in an entertaining way that combines learning and fun, resulting in the creation of passion labs that enhance Emirati identity and develop technical skills.
Student Suhailah Rashid Al-Mari, who participated in the Robotics Fundamentals program, stated: “I learned how to assemble a robot and program it to perform specific tasks, and I felt that I was controlling the future of technology with my own hands.” Meanwhile, trainer Noora Mohammed Taleb noted the great enthusiasm among the students, explaining: “We have observed a noticeable improvement in their logical thinking and teamwork skills.”
Inspirational Hands-On Experiences
In the Robotics Project Training workshop, students Sheikha Zayed and Mahra Al-Dhahmani shared their experience, saying: “We learned how to make the robot interact with its environment, in addition to designing real-world challenges and training ourselves to find solutions.” Trainer Joud Mohammed Taleb emphasized the importance of linking learning to practical applications, expressing her amazement at the students’ quick understanding.
On another note, in the Electricity and Electronics workshop, students Khalood Mohammed Al-Nuaimi and Hessa Khalid Al-Mazrouei expressed their excitement, stating: “We never imagined we would be able to connect electrical circuits with skill and confidence.” Engineer Farzad Hassan, the workshop trainer, confirmed that the program was successful in simplifying scientific concepts.
Exploring Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity
In the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis program, student Layla Hamad Al-Mulla shared her personal experience, saying: “I learned how intelligent systems think and how they can be trained to analyze data.” Trainer Mona Darwish explained that the program used simplified language to explain the basic concepts of artificial intelligence.
Regarding cybersecurity, students Aisha Suleiman Mohammed and Salama Mohammed Ali discussed the importance of learning how to protect information online. Aisha affirmed: “I have become aware of the dangers of cyber threats.” Other workshops excelled in various fields, such as general chemistry, where students expressed their passion for hands-on experiments.
Investing in the Future of Youth
Dr. Issa Al-Bastaki, Chairman of the Emirates Scientific Club, stated that the camp attracted 320 male and female students, aged between seven and 18 years. This program aims to discover talents and enhance the skills necessary to face future challenges.
General coordinator of the camp, Ashraf Ahmed, noted that activities related to national identity were an important aspect of the program, as participants showed a remarkable interest in traditional crafts and Emirati customs.
The summer camps for training Emirati students in 10 fields of programming and artificial intelligence embody the spirit of innovation and ambition, contributing to the development of a generation capable of facing the challenges of the future.
