Hand Rolls for Days, Coming Soon by Neha Mishra and Panchali Mahendra
Excitement is brewing in the culinary scene as Chef Neha Mishra of Kinoya teams up with Panchali Mahendra to introduce Tezukuri, a new temaki bar. This innovative dining concept promises to elevate the temaki experience by merging culinary artistry with a vibrant atmosphere. Set to open soon, Tezukuri aims to engage food lovers with its fresh and interactive approach to Japanese cuisine.
Neha Mishra, a renowned chef and restaurateur behind Kinoya, collaborates with Panchali Mahendra, the CEO of Atelier House Hospitality, known for concepts such as 11Woodfire and Gerbou. Together, they are poised to launch an exciting new venture centered around temaki, a traditional Japanese hand roll that showcases fresh ingredients and expert craftsmanship.
The inspiration for Tezukuri emerged spontaneously during a birthday celebration for Mishra last year, where a selection of DIY temaki rolls captivated the duo. What started as a fun idea has blossomed into a full-fledged concept dedicated entirely to the art of temaki.
Say hello to Tezukuri – a temaki bar and kissa speakeasy, opening its doors in Q3 2025.
How It Came to Be
Kinoya has earned its place in the hearts of diners, initially beginning as a supper club and now gaining acclaim in both Dubai and London for serving some of the most comforting and soul-soothing ramen. With a Bib Gourmand recognition from the Michelin Guide and a notable ranking in MENA’s 50 Best, Mishra has solidified her reputation in the culinary landscape.
However, Tezukuri will operate as a completely independent entity, distinct from Kinoya. This new establishment will focus exclusively on temaki, introducing a contemporary Japanese dining experience alongside a unique speakeasy bar featuring expertly crafted cocktails.
The menu promises a diverse array of freshly prepared temaki, carefully curated to maintain maximum flavor and texture. The venue’s layout will allow diners to interact directly with chefs during the preparation of their meals, creating an immersive and engaging dining experience.
When to Expect the Opening?
While food enthusiasts eagerly await the precise opening date, Mishra has hinted that the launch is anticipated between August and September, as she shared in an Instagram post announcing this exciting collaboration.
“Tailored to resonate with the city’s appetite for innovative Japanese cuisine, doing this with one of the most talented chefs in the city, and my friend, is going to be a fun ride,” stated Panchali Mahendra in an official press statement.
“As a gaijin who has dedicated my life’s work to understanding and creating (my own adaptation of) Japanese cuisine, this feels like a natural progression. Other than being a chef, creating concepts and being an operator appeals to me equally — this time from a unique perspective of being a conductor of the orchestra and allowing the craftsmanship to come from the masters. The partnership, experience, and infrastructure that AHH brings gives strength and support to our collective vision,” commented Neha Mishra about the temaki bar.
Stay tuned for all the exciting updates – we know we will be…
