Focus on Family Stability
During the meeting, the committee reviewed key family-related issues that it plans to address in the coming phase, placing paramount emphasis on enhancing family cohesion. This involves supporting family stability and empowering families to fulfil their roles in the upbringing and care of children, aimed at fostering a harmonious and stable community. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Sharjah, and the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, spouse of the Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.
Strategic Initiatives and Challenges
Saeed Matar bin Hamed Al-Tuniji reiterated that the committee will monitor challenges and issues related to families, as well as assess proposals and recommendations that could aid in the development of supportive legislation and policies. Furthermore, the committee plans to organise events, workshops, and seminars that highlight family and childhood issues, thus promoting the exchange of successful experiences and intensifying efforts and initiatives from relevant entities in this crucial domain. The year has been declared the Year of the Family, marking a significant focus on family matters.
Reviewing Past Achievements
The meeting also included a review of the committee’s performance over the past three sessions, examining the initiatives and efforts that have been realised. This assessment will help lay the groundwork for future developments and enhance the committee’s role in overseeing family affairs, contributing to Sharjah’s objectives of establishing stable families and a cohesive community.
