Dubai’s initiative “In Every House a Hafiz,” implemented by the Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, has attracted approximately 7,000 participants through its extensive Quranic programs and study circles. This initiative aims to integrate families as key partners in instilling Quranic values, thereby expanding the opportunities for learning and memorising the Quran, with the ultimate goal of having at least one Hafiz in every household in Dubai.
Wide Reach and Engagement
The initiative extends beyond traditional settings, reaching participants through the department’s knowledge centres, mosque circles, and the Hatta area. More than 4,500 individuals are engaged in the knowledge centres, around 1,800 are involved in mosque study circles, and more than 500 participants are from Hatta, resulting in a total of over 4,700 citizens and more than 2,100 residents taking part in the programme.
Significance of Family Involvement
Dr. Ali Hassan Al Marzooqi, the initiative’s coordinator, emphasised that “In Every House a Hafiz” views the family as a crucial partner in amplifying the Quranic impact. This collaborative approach not only fosters a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings but also nurtures a culture of learning within households, contributing to the overall spiritual advancement of the community.
