Dubai Awards Golden Residency to Outstanding Teachers

On 5th October 2026, as part of the celebration of World Teachers’ Day, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, announced a significant initiative aimed at recognising exceptional educators in Dubai. This initiative will grant Golden Residency permits to outstanding teachers and educational professionals within private educational institutions across the emirate.

This commendable effort reflects the leadership’s commitment to honouring educational excellence and supporting high-performing individuals in the teaching profession. As part of the initiative, selected educators will be acknowledged for their remarkable contributions and advancements in early childhood centres, schools, and higher education institutions. The aim is to appreciate their roles in enhancing the educational landscape and bolstering Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for attracting exceptional teaching talent.

Celebrating Quality Contributions

The initiative specifically targets a select group of educators who have consistently demonstrated remarkable achievements and made substantial contributions to improving education quality. By recognising these professionals, Dubai aspires to elevate the overall educational framework, thereby aligning with the goals of the Dubai Education Strategy 2033. This strategy emphasises the significance of inspiring teachers who command high respect and contribute their expertise to support students’ educational journeys, enhancing their competitiveness both regionally and internationally.

Since its inception on 5th October 2024, the initiative has recorded approximately 835 educators applying for the Golden Residency. Candidates are chosen through a comprehensive professional evaluation process that ensures fairness and transparency, taking into account their academic qualifications, notable achievements, and contributions to the educational and community fields. Inputs from parents and students are also considered in the assessment.

Investing in Human Capital

This initiative is a testament to the recognition of exceptional educational professionals who have shown significant commitment and innovative contributions to shaping the future of education in Dubai. It reflects the emirate’s dedication to nurturing talent and investing in human capital, celebrating educators who inspire future generations and empower them to navigate an ever-evolving world.

To apply for the Golden Residency, educators in early childhood centres, schools, and higher education institutions must meet specific eligibility criteria, which include demonstrating excellence in academic achievements and creative contributions to education, achieving tangible success in enhancing educational quality, and having a noticeable positive impact on students’ academic outcomes. Detailed criteria and application processes can be found on the official website of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai.
