The University of Sharjah has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gulf Drug LLC aimed at enhancing academic and professional collaboration in the medical and health sectors. This agreement is particularly focused on providing training for students of the College of Pharmacy and developing their skills in pharmacy automation and digital pharmacy practices.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Salah Taher Al-Haj, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, representing the University of Sharjah, and David Mazhar, General Manager of Gulf Drug. The signing was witnessed by various representatives from both parties.
The agreement outlines several collaborative initiatives, including the provision of practical training opportunities for students. In addition, it encompasses the organisation of specialised seminars, workshops, and lectures designed to enhance practical skills. Both parties aim to leverage their collective expertise to enrich the relevant academic curriculum. Furthermore, they plan to establish a state-of-the-art laboratory simulating a pharmacy environment, equipped with automation and digital technologies. This facility will offer students and faculty members the chance to familiarise themselves with these technologies and gain practical experience in a learning environment that mirrors real-world operations in the pharmaceutical sector.
In attendance at the MoU signing from the University of Sharjah was Professor Dr. Karam Al-Zoubi, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, alongside other academic and administrative members of the college. From Gulf Drug LLC, Mohammed Osman, Senior Sales Specialist for Pharmacy Automation, was also present.
