Dubai Municipality has conducted over 16,000 inspection visits across various residential areas of the emirate since the beginning of 2026. Among these, 800 inspections took place in the Al-Wahda area, aimed at early detection of any construction violations and the ongoing efforts to rectify them. These inspections have led to the identification of 2,395 violations, with 451 cases fully corrected, while another 1,478 cases are in the process of being resolved. Alongside this, strict measures have been taken against 466 other cases.
Commitment to Regulatory Excellence
Engineer Maryam Al-Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Dubai Building Regulation and Licensing Agency, confirmed that the municipality’s field efforts continue through a comprehensive inspection system designed to minimise violations. The goal is to enhance compliance and public safety while preserving the architectural integrity of residential neighbourhoods. These initiatives align with Dubai’s vision for a sustainable urban environment that boasts the highest standards of quality of life.
Key Violations and Community Involvement
Significant violations observed include the housing of single individuals in non-designated areas, multiple families renting a single housing unit, and undertaking construction or modifications without the necessary permits. This underscores the importance of building owners adhering strictly to approved usage. The municipality continues to urge community members to cooperate and report any infractions through official channels to facilitate timely responses and bolster oversight efforts.
