The “Risha wa Fanan” initiative, hosted at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Centre, continues to provide a rich array of artistic experiences aimed at empowering children, youth, and participants to express themselves creatively. Under the guidance of Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, the initiative effectively employs art as a vital tool for skill development, enhancing imagination, and linking talent to values and identity within an environment that fosters exploration and experimentation.
Engaging Workshops Foster Creativity
This month, the initiative has hosted a series of diverse activities and workshops designed to cultivate aesthetic sensibility among participants, encouraging them to transform their ideas and emotions into unique artistic creations. As part of the centre’s outreach, a workshop titled “On the Waves of Life” was conducted for students from Umm Kulthum School, providing a hands-on, interactive artistic experience that stimulated their creativity through colour and composition.
Celebrating Emirati Women’s Aspirations
In recognition of Emirati Women’s Day, “Risha wa Fanan” launched the artistic initiative “She Paints the Features of Tomorrow,” inviting women to articulate their visions of Emirati women in the future through art. This initiative saw substantial participation, with women expressing their perspectives through various artistic mediums, showcasing the ambitions and pivotal roles of Emirati women in shaping the future and continuing the legacy of creativity and contribution.
Discovering Artistic Potential
The centre also welcomed students from Al-Maali School for a workshop named “Sparkle and Creativity,” which provided participants with an opportunity to uncover their artistic abilities and express themselves through diverse creative techniques. Throughout September, the “Risha wa Fanan” initiative has maintained its commitment to offering engaging Sunday art workshops, including “Secrets of Line and Shape,” which taught foundational skills in drawing, composition, and control of lines and shapes, and “From Shadow to Light,” allowing participants to explore the interplay between light and shadow and its impact on artistic creation.
Beyond Art Techniques
The initiative transcends mere instruction in artistic techniques; it is dedicated to nurturing talent, encouraging observation, experimentation, and the expression of personal visions. By doing so, it integrates artistic experience as a crucial component of character development and boosts confidence and imagination among participants.
A Vision for Supporting Talent
These activities align with the vision of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Centre to support talent and provide an incubatory environment for creativity. “Risha wa Fanan” remains a space where ideas meet artistry, where imagination transforms into colour, and where talent evolves into impactful expressions that define the future.
