In a significant move towards creating a more inclusive and empowering community, Emirates Petroleum Company (Emarat) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Club for People of Determination. This partnership aims to unify their efforts in developing initiatives and programmes that broaden opportunities for individuals with disabilities, enhancing their training, qualification, employment, volunteering, and community engagement prospects.
Signatories Reflect Commitment to Inclusion
The MoU was signed by Burhan Al Hashemi, the CEO of Emarat, and Majid Abdullah Al Qasimi, the Executive Director of the Dubai Club for People of Determination. This agreement underscores the commitment of both parties to collaborate within a structured framework that defines areas of cooperation, implementation methods, governance, and impact measurement.
Shared Vision for Community Support
Burhan Al Hashemi expressed that Emarat is dedicated to initiatives that translate its social responsibility into tangible, sustainable impact. He emphasised, “Our cooperation with the Dubai Club for People of Determination reflects our belief in the importance of building an inclusive community that provides equal opportunities for development and participation. Through this partnership, we aim to support practical initiatives that enhance the quality of life and increase the engagement of people with disabilities in various fields.”

Majid Al Qasimi highlighted that this MoU represents a significant step towards enhancing collaboration with the public sector to support individuals with disabilities. He stated, “We look forward to implementing quality initiatives that contribute to skill development, strengthen training, qualification, employment, and volunteering opportunities, and establish a more inclusive environment for people of determination.” The collaboration aims to elevate awareness within institutions and society regarding the needs of individuals with disabilities and effective integration methods.

Under the terms of the MoU, both parties will collaborate to support and implement targeted programmes and initiatives that enhance the skills of individuals with disabilities, improve their quality of life, and facilitate their community participation. This partnership will also focus on elevating awareness of accessibility and integration practices, developing measurable shared initiatives aligned with the priorities of both organisations.
Training and Capacity Building
The agreement includes plans to organise awareness lectures and workshops for Emarat employees on inclusion and interaction methods with individuals with disabilities, along with collaborating in the recruitment and referral of qualified individuals from this community for training and qualification opportunities that align with the company’s needs and internal policies.
