As the new academic year of 2026-2027 approaches, the Dubai Ambulance Authority is gearing up to ensure the safety of students, educational staff, and road users. This comprehensive plan aims to effectively manage the anticipated traffic flow and density during peak school hours, achieved through strategic coordination with key partners.
Enhanced Emergency Response Readiness
The plan includes a thorough assessment of the field teams’ readiness and the distribution of ambulance units, with a particular focus on areas near schools. This will be especially vital during the morning rush and after school hours, enabling quick response times and effective handling of emergency situations.
Strategic Deployment of Resources
According to Mishal Abdul Kareem Julfar, Executive Director of the Dubai Ambulance Authority, the start of the school year necessitates a heightened level of preparedness and coordination. “It is essential due to the changes in traffic patterns and increased congestion around schools during specific times,” he remarked.
The Authority plans to activate 150 ambulance points across various regions of the emirate. These points will be staffed with specialised paramedics and equipped with vehicles and medical equipment designed to manage diverse emergencies efficiently and professionally.
A Collective Responsibility for Safety
Julfar emphasised that ensuring the safety of students is a shared responsibility. He urged parents, drivers, and road users to contribute to a safe environment by adhering to speed limits, particularly in school zones, and exercising caution when children are crossing the road or boarding school buses.
Encouraging Safe Practices
He also highlighted the importance of using designated drop-off and pick-up areas for students while discouraging random parking or practices that could hinder traffic flow near schools. The Dubai Ambulance Authority wishes all students and educational staff a successful and safe year ahead.
