Summary
Sharjah University launches an open and guidance week for students of 2026-2027 to introduce them to services and the academic environment, supported by participation from administrations and parents.
Sharjah University has kicked off its open week and guidance meetings for new students and their parents, gearing up for the academic year 2026-2027. This initiative, themed “Integrated Services… One Place,” is organised by the Deanship of Student Affairs throughout the week with the aim of preparing new students for the academic environment. It seeks to familiarise them with university facilities and services while fostering communication with parents—who are key partners in their children’s academic journeys—through extensive participation from various university departments.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Issam Al-Ajmi, the university director, emphasised that the arrival of new students marks the beginning of a comprehensive journey to build their characters, enhance their capabilities, discover their talents, and prepare for meaningful contributions to community service and future initiatives. He highlighted that this step goes beyond merely transitioning to a new academic phase.
Dr. Al-Ajmi noted that the university provides a diverse academic, research, and cultural environment that unites students and faculty from various nationalities and cultures under the values of respect, tolerance, collaboration, and responsibility. The university encapsulates an integrated system to support student learning and success, featuring distinguished academic programmes, advanced laboratories, and research centres, including those dedicated to artificial intelligence applications, robotics, and innovation.
He urged new students to commit to attending lectures, actively engage in their learning, and participate in both curricular and extracurricular activities. Success in university begins on day one and necessitates clear objectives, time management, and a serious commitment to their studies.
