Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Inspires Students’ Positive Return to Learning

The Mohammed bin Rashid Library is set to host the “Back to School” event in collaboration with the “Parents, Mothers, and Children” initiative this upcoming Friday and Saturday. The event aims to equip students and their families with the confidence and enthusiasm needed for the new academic year through a diverse programme of educational and entertaining activities, as well as interactive experiences.

Importance of Preparation for the New Academic Year

Fatima Fakhri, Acting Director of Events and Communication and Head of Activities and Events at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, emphasised that preparing for the new school year goes beyond merely gathering school uniforms and supplies. “It involves preparing children psychologically, boosting their self-confidence, and motivating them to return to school with excitement and positivity after a long break,” she stated. “With this in mind, we have designed the event to provide families with a comprehensive experience that combines practical support, reliable information, and purposeful activities.”

Diverse Activities for Children and Parents

Over the two-day occasion, attendees can look forward to a well-rounded programme tailored for both children and parents. Highlights include a live performance for children featuring beloved characters such as Professor Eugenious, Simka, and Nolik from “The Fixies”. The programme also encompasses a variety of interactive experiences, including LEGO building activities, remote-controlled car races from RCC Cities, creative woodworking sessions with Wood Wizards, and sensory activities from Blainst. Furthermore, there will be quieter activities and diverse educational experiences available.

Engagement Through Storytelling and Skill Development

The event promises engaging storytelling sessions, presented by the Emirates Foundation for Literature, designed to enhance early reading skills and instil a love for reading in children. Additionally, dedicated sessions will be organised for both children and parents, focusing on emotion regulation and mindfulness, ensuring that the preparation for school encompasses emotional and mental well-being.
