In a remarkable initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens in the UAE, the Council for Balanced Development of the Emirates conducted the third journey of the “Barakatna Trips” programme. This excursion saw participation from a select group of distinguished female citizens from the Al Rams area of Ras Al Khaimah. The journey was generously sponsored by First Abu Dhabi Bank and collaborated with Etihad Rail and the Natural History Museum, providing an engaging blend of social, cultural, and entertainment experiences for the elderly.
A Memorable Experience for Senior Women
The third trip specifically targeted senior women from the Al Rams region, offering them a unique opportunity to travel via the Etihad Rail. Following the train journey, participants visited the Natural History Museum located in the cultural district of Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. This visit allowed them to explore the museum’s rich cultural and educational experiences that highlight the history of nature and the evolution of life throughout the ages.
Community Engagement and Social Connection
This trip is part of the broader “Barakatna Trips” initiative, which the Council for Balanced Development is implementing across various villages and areas in the Emirates. The programme aims to promote community involvement among senior citizens, strengthen societal bonds, and ultimately enhance the quality of life in these localities. Through such experiences, the council fosters interaction and inclusivity among the elder population, paving the way for stronger community ties.
As the UAE continues to evolve, initiatives like “Barakatna Trips” underscore the importance of inclusivity, ensuring that senior citizens remain active participants in society and enjoy enriching experiences.
