A video of the Iraqi girl Emarat celebrating her school success goes viral; her father named her in honour of the UAE, and the family expresses gratitude for the hospitality and generosity of its people.
Eight-year-old Emarat Muhammad Hassan Khudair from Anbar, Iraq, had no idea that her joyful moments, as she ran holding her school certificate, would capture the attention of thousands. A video showing Emarat’s spontaneous celebration of her school success began circulating widely on social media, particularly due to her name, “Emarat,” which intrigued the Emirati public. This prompted a heartwarming response, further showcasing her family’s affection for the UAE.
In an interview with Al Khaleej during their visit to the UAE, Emarat’s father expressed, “I never expected the video to spread like this. Everything that happened was spontaneous, and my daughter’s joy was genuine. The overwhelming response from the Emirati people touched us.” He went on to explain his choice of name for his daughter: “I named my daughter ‘Emarat’ as a symbol of my love for the UAE and recognition of its humanitarian efforts in supporting other countries. My son is named Zayed out of respect for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.”
Emarat conveyed a heartfelt message to the Emirati people, saying, “Welcome to the people of generosity and kindness. Your sincere emotions and kind words have filled my heart.” She added, “I will never forget my first visit to the UAE as long as I live. It has been one of the most beautiful trips I’ve ever taken with my family. From the moment we arrived, we felt the warmth of your welcome and hospitality, as if we were among our own people.”
