95% of Al Dhaid Camel Market Completed Successfully

The camel market project in the Khubyan area of Al Dhaid is approaching completion, with 95% of the work finished, according to Eng Abdullah Al Tuniji, Director of the Branches Department at Sharjah Public Works Department. Covering an area of 60,000 square metres, the market is nearing operation as one of the region’s key projects supporting heritage and economic activity.

A major facility nearing launch

Al Tuniji said the project is close to becoming operational and is designed to serve traders and breeders in a setting that meets approved standards for care and safety. The market includes 22 modern enclosures equipped to accommodate camels in a way that ensures a suitable environment for both livestock and those working with them.

Facilities to support trading and oversight

The development also includes a fully integrated administrative building with a number of offices to organise operations and supervise the market. A laboratory has been provided to examine camels and verify their health before sale, strengthening confidence in trading activities and helping safeguard livestock health.

In addition, the project features a shaded auction area, offering a suitable space for daily auctions while maintaining the comfort of participants. A service building has also been completed, comprising a café, a rest room and toilets, creating a more comfortable environment for visitors and workers at the market.
