Dubai Chambers has explored ways to deepen bilateral relations between Dubai and China, with a focus on strengthening trade and investment ties between the business communities in both markets and opening new avenues for companies to benefit from the opportunities available on each side.
The discussions took place during a visit by a Dubai Chambers delegation to the headquarters of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce in Shanghai, where both sides reviewed opportunities to expand institutional cooperation and strengthen communication between the private sectors in Dubai and China.
They also discussed mechanisms to support Chinese companies seeking to expand into regional markets through Dubai, taking advantage of the emirate’s position as a global business and trade hub.
Dubai’s competitive advantages
The meeting highlighted the key competitive strengths Dubai offers investors, including its advanced business environment, world-class infrastructure and investment-supportive legislation.
The two sides also discussed opportunities available across a number of priority economic sectors, as well as ways to encourage mutual investment and broaden the scope of commercial partnerships in line with shared interests.
Commitment to stronger ties
Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Vice-President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, said: «We are keen to strengthen trade and investment links between Dubai and China, building on the depth of bilateral partnerships and opening further horizons for Chinese companies seeking international expansion and benefiting from the opportunities offered by Dubai».
The meeting also reviewed the latest updates on the Dubai Business Forum – China, organised by Dubai Chambers in Shenzhen on 14 October, and its role in broadening the prospects for economic partnerships between Dubai and China.
