As part of its efforts to promote a culture of social responsibility and reinforce the importance of civil behaviour as a key pillar of quality of life and sustainable security, the Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Security Media Department, has launched its community awareness campaign “Your Behaviour Makes the Place” in conjunction with the start of the summer holiday. The campaign is being carried out in cooperation with several government entities, strategic partners and summer centres, with the aim of reaching different segments of society in locations that see high levels of summer activity and delivering awareness messages that encourage civil conduct and social responsibility.
Promoting positive behaviour across the community
The campaign seeks to encourage positive behaviour and instil values of responsibility and commitment among all segments of society through educational lectures delivered to children, young people, parents and employees in government entities and institutions. These efforts are intended to strengthen community partnership and embed a culture of respect for regulations and the preservation of public facilities, based on the principle that conscious behaviour is fundamental to building a safer society that is more committed to the rules.
Summer holiday seen as an opportunity for awareness
Sharjah Police said the summer holiday typically brings increased visits to public facilities and leisure destinations, making it an appropriate opportunity to raise awareness of responsible behaviour among all members of the community. It added that families have a central role in instilling positive values in children, while government and private institutions also have a complementary role in promoting a culture of social responsibility among employees and service users, helping to reinforce civil behaviour as a shared responsibility that requires the combined efforts of all members of society.
Call to uphold civil conduct
Sharjah Police urged community members to adhere to civil behaviour in all public facilities, respect rules and instructions, preserve public property and avoid negative practices that affect the safety of others or distort the civil appearance. It stressed that positive behaviour is a collective responsibility that contributes to enhancing quality of life and strengthening community security.
