6 Exciting Abu Dhabi Activities Happening July 20–23

Looking for plans in the capital this week? From family-friendly exhibitions and hands-on creative workshops to unlimited pizza nights and elegant dining experiences, Abu Dhabi has a packed lineup of activities to suit all ages and interests.

Here are six things to add to your diary between July 20 and 23.

Discover a new children’s exhibition at Louvre Abu Dhabi

Louvre Abu Dhabi has launched a new exhibition for children: A Board Game Adventure. Designed for ages four to 12, it invites little ones to discover, play and learn through an immersive journey into the world of board games. The display features 24 artworks and artefacts highlighting the rich history of board games, tracing how games have been created, adapted and shared across cultures and regions.

The three thematic sections turn the children’s museum into a life-size game environment, while the courtyard extends the experience with large-scale, hands-on activities and workshops. Visitors can also see iconic artworks, including Portrait of William and Penelope Welby Playing Chess (1769) by Francis Cotes, alongside historical games such as Mancala, one of the oldest games in the world, and the ancient Egyptian Mehen (Snake Game), a rare surviving example of this early game.
