In line with its ongoing efforts, the Dubai International Marine Club has approved the agenda for the 2026-2027 sports season, which includes 40 races, championships, and events to be held from September 2026 to April 2027. The events will encompass both traditional and modern marine sports within the UAE and beyond, further enhancing the club’s reputation on both local and international levels.
Marine sports enthusiasts can look forward to the new season kicking off in September with the “Shindagha” race for local sailing boats in the 22-foot category. This event promises to be an exciting start to a series of activities that include traditional sailing races, the UAE modern sailing championships, local rowing competitions, jet ski activities, fishing, flyboarding, and kayaking.
Among the highlights of the agenda, the season will feature two editions of the historic Al Qaffal race for local sailing vessels in the 60-foot category. Dubai will host the postponed 35th edition of the race from last season in October, with the 36th edition scheduled for April 2027. This reflects the club’s commitment to showcasing the UAE’s maritime heritage while promoting the modern presence of marine sports.
Dr. Ahmed Saeed Bin Meshar, Chairman of the Dubai International Marine Club, stated that the program reflects the club’s vision of providing a comprehensive sports season that aligns with the aspirations of athletes and enthusiasts, as well as the ongoing efforts to develop national talent. By organizing 40 races and championships in its agenda, the club aims to enhance the UAE’s presence on the global stage and host major international competitions.
