The company’s management is firm in addressing these behaviors, having imposed fines of up to 5,000 dirhams for actions such as damaging train or station property, including writing or drawing on property.
According to the fine schedule obtained by “Emirates Today,” penalties range between 200 and 500 dirhams, with the fine determined by the nature and severity of the offense. Employees of “Union Trains” are authorized to issue fines for any of these violations, whether the offender is a passenger or a visitor.
Fines of 200 dirhams cover offenses such as littering, putting feet on seats, and traveling without a valid ticket. On the other hand, a fine of 500 dirhams is imposed for smoking or inhaling tobacco products in prohibited areas. Additionally, more serious offenses, such as preventing train doors from closing or tampering with safety equipment, carry fines of up to 5,000 dirhams.
