In a new step reflecting its commitment to excellence in maritime services, the Dubai Maritime Authority has announced the launch of the “Reception and Transportation of Dubai Sea Guests” initiative. This initiative aims to enhance the visitor experience by facilitating movement between marinas and yachts, thereby reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global maritime tourism destination. This service operates around the clock, demonstrating Dubai’s commitment to effectively meeting the maritime needs of its guests.
Details of the Initiative
The Dubai Maritime Authority confirmed that the initiative will provide the “Reception and Transportation of Dubai Sea Guests” service to and from participating marinas and registered private boats and yachts. This service includes major marinas such as Port Rashid Marina, Jumeirah 1 Marina, Dubai Harbor Marina, and Jebel Ali Hotel Marina. Visitors can take advantage of this service, available 24/7, by directly contacting marina management.
Enhancing Visitor Experience
According to Mohammed Nabhan, Director of Maritime Excellence and Compliance, the initiative aims to enhance the smooth movement of private maritime vessels and their guests. He noted that the service contributes to achieving integration between marinas and tourism and entertainment activities, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and service quality in the sector. This initiative is designed to enrich the experience of Dubai Sea Guests in a safe and seamless environment.
Features of the New Service
The service provides comprehensive solutions for the reception and transportation of 3,491 private maritime vessels as well as visiting foreign yachts authorized to sail in the emirate’s waters. It requires the submission of certain necessary documents, such as proof of ownership of the maritime vessel and a sailing permit, to ensure that operations run smoothly and safely.
Dubai’s Future Vision
This initiative is part of the Dubai Maritime Authority’s efforts to enhance the quality of life and elevate the city’s status as a distinguished global maritime destination. The authority aims to continue investing in the development of maritime infrastructure to support tourism and economic growth. Dubai continues to attract more visitors, having received 210 applications for entry permits for foreign yachts last year.
