The UAE Digital School Achieves a New Milestone in the Digital Transformation of Education in Jordan
The UAE Digital School continues its journey to enhance digital education by reaching a new milestone in the digital transformation of education in Jordan. This initiative, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, enables hundreds of teachers and students in Jordan to acquire future skills and engage with modern teaching methods. This phase targets more than 11,000 students and emphasizes the importance of innovation in education as a means to achieve sustainable development in the community.
Empowering Teachers and Students
The Digital School celebrated the achievements of this new phase, which included the digital transformation of education in Jordan, empowering over 800 teachers from 15 public schools. This initiative was implemented through the “Digital Teacher Program,” in collaboration with the Global Academy for Digital Teachers and Arizona State University. Additionally, integrated digital learning environments were developed, and 300 students were trained in the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, enhancing their ability to effectively use technology in their studies.
Highlighting Digital Infrastructure
The new phase of the digital transformation of education in Jordan included updating the digital infrastructure in beneficiary schools, providing these institutions with a package of technologies and educational devices. A total of 160 laptops, 59 tablets, 6 smart screens, and 45 projectors were supplied, enhancing the schools’ readiness to implement digital education models and blended learning. With these resources, teachers and students can benefit from interactive educational content available through the Digital School platform, supporting curricula from grade one to grade twelve.
Field Experiences and Future Discussions
During a field visit to several schools benefiting from this initiative, a delegation from the Digital School, in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, met with Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh, the Secretary-General for Educational Affairs at the Jordanian Ministry of Education. The project results and experiences of teachers and students were reviewed, and outstanding schools and teachers who contributed to the project’s implementation were honored. The visit also included discussion sessions with school leaders and teachers, highlighting their experiences and feedback to improve the project and increase its impact in future phases.
Future Development Plans
To emphasize the importance of continuing the initiative, an agreement was reached to form a joint task force between the Ministry of Education and the Digital School. This team aims to study needs and priorities and develop a comprehensive vision for the next phase of the digital transformation of education in Jordan. Thus, cooperation will continue, and the scope of the digital model’s application will expand to include more schools across the kingdom.
Dr. Walid Al-Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, emphasized that investing in teachers is a fundamental step toward improving the educational system. Meanwhile, Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh noted that this project is part of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Education, which underscores the necessity of leveraging digital transformation to enhance the quality of education. With the ongoing strengthening of this partnership, everyone hopes to create a positive and sustainable change in the future of education in Jordan.
