UAE Secures Sixth Position in Global Wi-Fi Excellence Rankings

UAE Ranks 6th Globally in Wi-Fi Service Quality

The UAE has secured the sixth position globally in Wi-Fi service quality, according to a ranking compiled by David Coleman from Extreme Networks. This achievement highlights the country’s progress in digital infrastructure and its ongoing commitment to investing in communication technologies. The UAE surpasses prominent European countries such as Iceland, the Netherlands, and France, reflecting its capability to deliver advanced services in a technology-driven world.

Outstanding Global Ranking

According to a report published by Wi-Fi Now, Singapore ranks first, followed by South Korea in second place, while Japan takes third. Switzerland and Denmark occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. The UAE, as the sixth globally in Wi-Fi service quality, outperforms seventh-ranked Iceland, eighth-ranked Netherlands, ninth-ranked France, and tenth-ranked Estonia. This ranking reflects the strength of the country’s digital infrastructure.

Quality Measurement Criteria

The ranking methodology is based on a set of key indicators that measure the actual connectivity experience, going beyond merely assessing internet speed. The criteria include nine main factors out of 100 points, such as performance speed, availability of public networks, and the density of access points in airports, transportation hubs, and cities. The suitability of the infrastructure for remote work also plays a significant role, along with the quality of connectivity in hotels and airports.

Investment in Digital Infrastructure

The UAE’s advancement in this ranking indicates the success of its digital transformation strategy, which includes significant investments in smart cities and fiber optic networks. This transformation enhances communication infrastructure, supporting both the business and tourism sectors. According to global economic studies, investments directed at improving digital infrastructure quality ensure better connectivity experiences.

The Experience Goes Beyond Speed

David Coleman emphasizes that internet speed is just one of many factors. Users evaluate their experiences based on the reliability of connectivity in public places such as airports and hotels. This gives countries with comprehensive digital infrastructure a clear advantage in providing effective services. While the United States ranks fourteenth, it reflects that the quality of the connectivity experience is not solely tied to economic size, but also to the quality of investments.

Ultimately, the UAE’s achievement of sixth place globally in Wi-Fi service quality serves as a model for other countries seeking to enhance their digital infrastructure and provide advanced services to both citizens and visitors alike.
