The Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched an initiative to distribute “Eidiyah” to over 11,700 beneficiaries in celebration of Eid al-Adha. This initiative reflects the core Emirati values associated with the holiday and reinforces the framework of social support aimed at families and deserving individuals.
Collaborative Efforts for Community Support
The initiative was executed in collaboration with various strategic partners from the government, private, and charitable sectors. Notable partners included the Waqf and Minor Affairs Foundation, Union Cooperative Society, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Jumaa Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and the Takaful Charity Foundation. This collaboration demonstrates the integration of community efforts and the establishment of a culture of giving and community solidarity in the Emirate of Dubai.
Commitment to Social Welfare
Hissa bint Essa Buhumaid, the General Director of the CDA, emphasized the importance of sustainable community work, which is anchored in the collaborative roles of diverse organizations. She stated, “Dubai continues to establish itself as a global model in humanitarian and social work through quality initiatives that place individuals and families at the heart of its developmental priorities, aligning with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.” This agenda aims to create a more cohesive and united community while enhancing the protective and empowering social systems for all segments of society.
Targeted Beneficiaries and Support Initiatives
The “Eidiyah” initiative included families and individuals registered under financial assistance programs, as well as priority groups such as minors and fishermen. This comprehensive community framework aims to enhance family stability and social cohesion. The total value of the initiative reached 27.7 million dirhams, covering the support allocated to beneficiaries of social financial assistance and minors, further reflecting collaboration among relevant social work organizations. Additionally, the initiative provided support for fishermen through prepaid cards issued by the Union Cooperative Society. The CDA also organized a participatory design session to monitor their livelihoods and effectively address their social and living needs.
Contributions and Humanitarian Activities
Included in the initiative was a contribution of five million dirhams from Beit Al Khair Society, in partnership with the “Jood” platform, aimed at supporting the Community Development Fund. This partnership underscores the values of solidarity and generosity while enhancing the impact of sustainable community collaborations in supporting families and deserving groups. Furthermore, the CDA executed a humanitarian initiative distributing 250 fruit baskets for Eid al-Adha in collaboration with the Emirates Food Bank, reinforcing a culture of giving and sustainable humanitarian work.
The initiative reached 65 beneficiaries from the “Waleef” initiative, along with 185 beneficiaries from senior citizen councils in the Al Barsha area, ensuring that baskets were delivered directly to their homes. These initiatives reaffirm the CDA’s commitment to enhancing community work and strengthening the impact of sustainable humanitarian partnerships, thus supporting families and deserving individuals. By fostering values of giving and solidarity, Dubai is further establishing itself as a leading global model in social development and community welfare.
