Gargash Uncovers Irans Covert Attacks on Gulf Nations

Gargash: The Iranian Attack on the Gulf Was Premeditated, and Containment Policies Have Failed

In his remarks regarding the recent escalation in the region, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the President, emphasized that the Iranian attack on the Gulf was premeditated and planned. He noted that Iran had prepared for this in various ways, and attempts to contain Tehran have not borne fruit. Gargash provided a precise analysis of the current situation and the necessity of reaching a comprehensive political solution to build trust between Gulf countries and Iran, while acknowledging the increasing threat from the north.

The Iranian Attack: A Calculated Scheme

During a panel discussion titled “Reassessing Alliances in Times of Tension” at the “Gulf Influencers” event, Gargash clarified that the Iranian aggression was not a spontaneous act but rather orchestrated with specific objectives. His criticisms focused on Iran’s readiness, armed with various methods, to launch such an attack, and he expressed concern about the failure of the containment strategies in place. He asserted that this policy is no longer effective in addressing new challenges.

Calls for Political Solutions and Building Trust

Gargash pointed out that it is essential for the region to adopt a political approach to resolve disputes. “It is clear that we need an approach based on building trust,” he stated during the session, emphasizing the importance of dialogue between Gulf countries and Iran. He explained that succumbing to aggressive policies would only lead to greater tension, necessitating an agreement between both parties to face common challenges.

The Iranian Military Situation and Future Threats

Gargash also discussed the impact of military contexts on regional stability, noting that Iran acts as a great power despite lacking nuclear weapons. “What would the situation be if Iran possessed weapons of mass destruction?” he questioned, highlighting the growing concern over the potential escalation of circumstances in the future. In his view, it is crucial for Gulf countries to remain vigilant about all possible scenarios and to have effective strategies to confront them.

Gulf Cooperation at Its Weakest

In his observations on cooperation among Gulf countries, Gargash indicated that the position of the Gulf Cooperation Council has historically been the weakest in facing the Iranian attack. This reflects the urgent need to reassess strategies and strengthen ties between countries in the region. “The danger comes from the north, and our priorities must shift to ensure a safer future,” Gargash concluded, reflecting the prevailing sense of anxiety and increasing danger in the Gulf.
