Dubai Schools Evaluate Preferences for In-Person and Online Learning

Survey Determines “In-Person” or “Remote” Learning in Dubai Schools

As the trend toward resuming traditional education grows, several private schools in Dubai have launched a survey aimed at parents to determine their choice between “in-person” or “remote” learning. This survey comes as schools finalize preparations for students’ return, reaffirming their commitment to comply with the requirements of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) before the educational process begins.

Survey to Assess Family Preferences

The schools have sent out a survey via official messages inviting families to select the most suitable option for their children, whether returning to in-person education or continuing with remote learning. Schools have emphasized that no student will be admitted before receiving final official approval from the KHDA in Dubai, reflecting their commitment to adhering to the correct procedures.

In this context, schools pointed out that the survey aims to identify the number of students wishing to return in person compared to those preferring to continue studying remotely, stressing the necessity of filling out a separate form for each student to ensure an organized return based on actual numbers.

Student Safety and Flexible Learning

The safety and psychological well-being of students are priorities for the schools, which have confirmed that in-person education represents the best option. However, they also recognize the diverse circumstances of families, thus providing flexibility to continue remote learning during this transitional phase. This balance between “in-person” and “remote” aims to ensure a safe and suitable educational environment for all.

Preparations for the Start of the Educational Process

As part of the return to school, next Monday has been designated for training educational and administrative staff on safety plans and student reception procedures. Classes will be conducted that day via Google Classroom without direct sessions, allowing teachers the opportunity for comprehensive training before the academic year begins.

Schools also indicated that they will provide psychological support for students and their families to help them adapt to the changes accompanying the return to in-person education. In terms of school transportation services, the operation of buses has been temporarily postponed to ensure that students are under parental supervision during the initial days, enhancing everyone’s sense of reassurance.

Return Schedule and Additional Procedures

Preschool students are expected to be among the first groups returning to school, while the schedule for the return of other grades will be announced in the coming days. Schools have organized a virtual session for parents to clarify safety protocols and return plans, ensuring all aspects related to communication with families and explaining the hybrid learning model for students who will continue studying remotely.

With all these preparations, schools remain committed to awaiting official approval from the KHDA to ensure that the educational process resumes safely and efficiently. The cooperation and patience of parents during this period provide significant support for these efforts, reflecting a collective commitment to a better educational future.
