Since the beginning of the year until December 10, the Ministry achieved approximately 13 million transactions using automation and AI technologies without any human intervention. The introduction of this intelligent system for managing work permit quotas significantly reduces processing time from ten days to merely one second, showcasing a remarkable leap in operational efficiency.

This innovative step is part of the ministry’s ongoing effort to fully embrace AI technologies across all operations. It aligns with the second phase of the “Zero Bureaucracy” program and the digital transformation of services, aimed at bolstering the UAE’s economic vision for 2030. The ministry recently unveiled enhancements to the work permit quota system designed to support business growth by reducing the number of necessary transactions. The proactive allocation of work permit quotas based on requests and the status of establishments allows for more personalized management, ensuring that enterprises quickly obtain the workforce they need.
Efficiency Gains Through Automation
Developed with a focus on operational excellence, this intelligent system has already allocated around 900,000 quotas to establishments this year and processed over 11 million transactions through automation. The new system has reduced human effort by 56%, automating processes for about 175,000 requests and effectively shortening review and approval times for additional quotas by up to 99%. This transformation illustrates the substantial impact of the intelligent system on improving processing accuracy and speed.
The system autonomously grants initial quotas based on AI verification of establishments, ensuring a swift approval process aligned with each entity’s needs. For additional quotas, AI predicts requirements and facilitates automatic approvals, though some requests may still require committee review if the needs exceed predictions. Additionally, the system is capable of continuous learning, refining its decision-making based on new data and operational patterns.
