His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, emphasized that the UAE and Russia share a strategic relationship built on mutual understanding and common economic interests. This statement was made during the twelfth session of the UAE-Russian joint governmental committee for trade, economic, and technical cooperation, which he co-chaired alongside His Excellency Anton Alyakhinov, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade. Representatives from both the governmental and private sectors were present at this significant meeting.

In his address, Al Marri highlighted that the current session of the joint committee marks a new phase in establishing fruitful partnerships between the business communities and private sectors in both countries. “Our cooperation focuses on new economic sectors and priority areas, which will mutually benefit both nations,” he stated. The minister underscored the committee’s vital role in exploring promising opportunities within the business environments of both countries.

Al Marri reviewed the advantages offered by the UAE’s business environment, which features flexible economic laws allowing 100% foreign ownership of companies and a highly developed climate that accommodates over 2,000 economic activities. The agenda of the committee included discussions on action plans and mechanisms for collaboration in sectors such as investment, energy, industry and innovation, food security, agriculture, education, logistics, tourism, culture, environmental protection, healthcare, and various other critical topics.
