Dubai Incubator Aims to Transform Real Estate Sector

Dubai is making significant strides in the real estate sector by launching a new initiative aimed at training and developing a new generation of brokers. The Emirati Real Estate Business Incubator will support 50 firms as part of a broader effort to solidify the UAE’s position as a global leader in entrepreneurship and real estate investment. This incubator is designed not only to enhance skills but also to create a vibrant ecosystem for emerging real estate agencies, aligning with Dubai’s ambition to become the startup capital of the world.

The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has officially unveiled the Emirati Real Estate Business Incubator in collaboration with Dubai Silicon Oasis, the New Economy Academy, and Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai (RIT Dubai).

This initiative is a key component of The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World national campaign, which was launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign aims to reinforce the UAE’s global standing in terms of entrepreneurship and innovation.

The Ministry of Economy and Tourism oversees this campaign, working alongside the UAE Government Media Office. Participation extends to the UAE Council for Entrepreneurship and involves over 50 government entities, private organizations, business incubators, accelerators, and esteemed academic institutions.

Overview of the Incubator Program

The six-month Emirati Real Estate Business Incubator program, commencing on October 27 at Dubai Silicon Oasis, will host 50 Emirati real estate firms. This initiative is aimed at guiding participants through the transition from independent brokers to full-fledged real estate agencies.

The curriculum promises a comprehensive education that includes:

  • Brokerage firm management
  • Regulatory and financial procedures
  • Market analysis
  • Feasibility studies
  • Business planning
  • Legal frameworks

Moreover, the training will cover crucial aspects such as human resources, financial management, branding, sales, and marketing. Participants will also learn to leverage technology and artificial intelligence in real estate, ensuring they remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.

Empowering Emirati Brokers

Omar Hamad Bushahab, Director-General of DLD, emphasized the importance of the incubator initiative, stating, “Through this incubator, we aim to build a new generation of Emirati brokers who can establish leading brokerage firms, contributing to the market’s sustainability and solidifying the UAE’s position as a global hub for real estate investment.”

He noted that the Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme has already seen success, with 1,800 new Emirati brokers joining the ranks of the existing 700 since its launch in 2024, contributing to a total of 30,000 brokers in Dubai. “In this timespan, Emirati brokers completed transactions worth AED 10 billion ($2.72 billion),” Bushahab added.

This initiative is designed to enable more Emirati firms to take on significant roles in the sustainability and leadership of the UAE real estate sector.

A Collaborative Effort

The launch event was marked by a panel discussion featuring notable figures such as Badr Buhannad, Dr. Laila Faridoon, Abdullah Al Shehi, CEO of the Dubai Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), and Mohammed Al Badwawi, CEO of Corporate Support at DLD.

Badr Buhannad, Director-General of Dubai Silicon Oasis, remarked, “Our collaboration with the Dubai Land Department and the New Economy Academy, alongside academic partners, will help provide a stimulating environment where participants can leverage an integrated ecosystem that merges technology, real estate, and entrepreneurship.”

He further highlighted that hosting this incubator reinforces DSO’s commitment to developing Emirati talent and promoting innovation.

Dr. Laila Faridoon, CEO of the New Economy Academy, stated, “We aim to provide advanced training that blends academic knowledge with practical application, focusing on project management, modern technology, and leadership capacity building. This approach equips participants with the advanced tools needed to build robust, competitive businesses.”

The program seeks to deepen participants’ understanding of the UAE’s real estate market, enhance professional conduct, and improve client relationship management. Upon completion, participants will be awarded an accredited certificate from the program’s academic partners, along with a year of professional follow-up and one-on-one mentorship from industry consultants.

The Emirati Real Estate Business Incubator stands as a strategic initiative aimed at empowering national talent, enhancing the brokerage ecosystem, and advancing the UAE’s vision for a sustainable knowledge-based economy. Through this program, the future of real estate in Dubai looks promising, with a new wave of professionals ready to shape the industry.
