UAE Real Estate Expected to Reach $759 Billion by 2029

The UAE real estate sector is poised for unprecedented growth, anticipated to reach a staggering $759 billion by 2029 amid a robust property boom in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This rapidly expanding market, fueled by foreign investment, strategic government initiatives, and a surge in off-plan developments, is solidifying the UAE’s reputation as a premier global investment hub.

Strong Market Dynamics in 2025

In 2025, the UAE real estate sector is expected to achieve record sales figures, underscoring its significance as a vital contributor to the national economy. The market is projected to be valued at nearly $693 billion by year-end. Factors such as the influx of foreign direct investment, increased launches of off-plan properties, and targeted government initiatives are driving this growth, positioning the emirate as a thriving real estate landscape.

Performance Highlights in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

A recent report by JLL has revealed that off-plan properties led the sales landscape in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi during the first half of the year. In Dubai, real estate transactions soared to AED 153.7 billion ($41.9 billion) in the second quarter, marking an impressive 44.5% increase year-over-year. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi experienced a 12.1% rise in average sales prices during the same period.

The sustained demand for off-plan properties, buoyed by approximately 32,400 residential units under development across both cities in the latter half of the year, continues to confirm the market’s ability to meet housing demands effectively. Rental markets have also shown stability, with Abu Dhabi witnessing a 9.4% year-on-year increase in lease contracts, while Dubai recorded an 11.5% surge in total residential leases.

Notably, sales transactions mirrored these trends:

  • Abu Dhabi achieved a 9.1% increase in total sales, including a remarkable 32.6% growth in the secondary market.
  • Dubai demonstrated a 22.8% rise in total sales, with a 17.1% uptick in secondary sales.

Office Market Growth

In the office sector, Abu Dhabi expanded its stock by 78,000 square meters in the second quarter, bringing the total to 4.6 million square meters. An additional 66,000 square meters is expected by the close of the year. Dubai saw a smaller increase of 24,000 square meters, elevating its total to 9.3 million square meters, with 264,000 square meters of premium space in the Dubai International Financial Centre set to debut in 2026.

According to Statista, the UAE real estate market is on track to reach $693.53 billion by the end of 2025, with the residential segment contributing a significant $401.81 billion. The sector is forecasted to expand at an annual growth rate of 2.28% through to 2029, ultimately hitting $759.04 billion.

Luxury Segment and Future Prospects

High-net-worth individuals are increasingly driving demand for luxury properties, further establishing the UAE as a global investment destination. Mordor Intelligence estimates that the UAE real estate services market will reach $18.45 billion in 2025, potentially expanding to $24.75 billion by 2030 at a compound annual growth rate of 6.05%.

Factors including foreign investment, growth in logistics, and the development of data centers and premium housing projects are fueling this expansion. Additionally, Ras Al Khaimah has emerged as a contender for significant growth in the upcoming years, highlighting a diverse array of opportunities across all emirates.
