In a significant humanitarian endeavor, the UAE has conducted a medical evacuation of 119 patients and injured individuals from the Gaza Strip, marking a critical intervention amid ongoing health crises in the region. Collaborating with the World Health Organization, the UAE successfully evacuated these individuals by facilitating their transit via Ramon Airport in Israel and the Karam Abu Salem crossing. This operation contributes to the UAE’s broader commitment to providing essential medical care, bringing the total number of patients and companions evacuated to 2,904 since the onset of this humanitarian challenge.

This latest evacuation is part of the comprehensive medical evacuation efforts instructed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE. His directive aims to provide treatment for 1,000 Palestinian children injured during the conflict, alongside an equivalent number suffering from cancer. This reinforces the UAE’s ongoing mission to deliver vital healthcare services to civilians in Gaza, addressing their urgent medical needs and alleviating suffering in these dire circumstances.
Commitment to Immediate Response
According to Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations, the UAE remains committed to its humanitarian response by prioritizing the transfer of injured civilians from Gaza. He emphasized the UAE’s historical support for the Palestinian people in times of crisis, showcasing a steadfast dedication to facilitating swift recovery and providing assistance during emergencies across the globe.
Coordination with Global Health Authorities

This cooperation ensures the prompt transport of critical cases for appropriate treatment in UAE hospitals. Furthermore, comprehensive health, educational, and cultural services are being offered at the UAE Humanitarian City, allowing for crucial relief in the wake of the humanitarian crisis, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and women. The UAE has also committed to supplying vital healthcare services, medication, and medical supplies at a floating hospital near Al Arish, Egypt, and a field hospital situated in southern Gaza.
Ongoing Efforts and Collaboration
The UAE’s proactive measures form part of its urgent response plan, continuing its humanitarian efforts in partnership with UN agencies and international stakeholders.
