In the latest humanitarian efforts, the UAE has successfully implemented a remarkable initiative, highlighted by “57 Emirati Humanitarian Initiatives and Projects in Gaza During the Month.” This focused effort is part of Operation “Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3,” which took place in August and aimed to alleviate the hardships faced by the people of Gaza through diverse relief projects and initiatives.
Operation Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3: A Lifeline for Gaza
During August, Operation “Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3” orchestrated over 57 humanitarian initiatives and relief projects through various UAE charitable organizations. This operation underscores the UAE’s unwavering commitment to support its Palestinian brothers and sisters. The initiatives included 23 airdrop missions to deliver essential aid directly to the residents of Gaza.
The “Tuyour Al-Khayr” missions continued with the completion of the 59th airdrop, demonstrating the UAE’s dedication to mitigating the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians, especially in areas that are difficult to access due to security issues. This effort reflects the UAE’s ongoing collaboration with regional and international partners to ensure relief reaches those in need via air, land, and sea, consistent with its longstanding humanitarian approach.
Medical Aid and Supply Efforts
Throughout the month, the UAE facilitated medical supply convoys, sending much-needed medications and health supplies to Gaza. The arrival of the eighth Emirati aid ship, “Khalifa Humanitarian Ship,” at Egypt’s Arish port marked a significant achievement in these efforts. Furthermore, the “Lifeline” project successfully provided potable water from Emirati desalination plants in Egypt to over 600,000 individuals in the southern areas of Gaza.
In tandem with their efforts to bolster the beleaguered healthcare system, the UAE launched initiatives for food assistance through bakeries and charitable kitchens to address the dire situation faced by thousands of families at risk of starvation. Additionally, a significant collaboration with the World Health Organization led to shipments of crucial medical supplies aimed at supporting Gaza’s healthcare sector.
Empowering Vulnerable Populations
August also saw the implementation of the “In the Shadows and Under the Roofs” initiative, which aims to support orphaned children in Gaza, who have been profoundly affected by the ongoing conflict. Various other initiatives targeted widowed women who lost their husbands during the war, providing them with critical assistance and resources.
Operation “Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3” dispatched the “Lifeline and Hope” convoy to supply hospitals in Gaza with medications and medical equipment. Moreover, food packages were distributed to individuals with disabilities and in refugee camps, reflecting a sustained commitment to reaching those most affected by the region’s trials.
Daily Support Initiatives
With continued assistance from the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, Operation “Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3” ensured the provision of daily meals to over 40,000 individuals through its charitable kitchens in Gaza, significantly alleviating the hardships faced by families during these challenging times.
As part of its ongoing humanitarian response, the UAE, in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, dispatched the ninth “Hamdan Humanitarian Ship” from Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi to Gaza in August, loaded with 7,000 tons of food, medical supplies, and relief materials.
