Details of the Program
The workshop will take place in the historic Al Shindagha district from October 1 to December 12, featuring both virtual and in-person sessions. The program primarily targets university graduates, artists, and creatives who are either citizens or residents of the UAE and are eager to advance their capabilities in art evaluation. By participating in the “Fundamentals of Art Evaluation” workshop, attendees will engage in a variety of training sessions focusing on essential skills.
Workshop Contents
Participants will delve into crucial topics such as planning artistic exhibitions, selecting artist lists, and the care and maintenance of artworks. Additionally, the program will cover the design of communication strategies with the media, establishing partnerships, and preparing budgets and contracts. The culmination of the workshop will see participants presenting a comprehensive proposal for an art exhibition, showcasing the development and expertise acquired during the program.
Application Process
“Dubai Culture” will begin accepting applications from September 8 to September 15. A panel of experts, including specialists and art curators, will select participants based on criteria that reflect their preparedness for this creative experience, their interest in exhibition organization, and their commitment to actively engaging in all sessions and workshops of the program. The workshop is designed to accommodate only ten creatives, ensuring an intimate and focused learning environment.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must possess a strong command of the English language and should either be budding curators, artists, or cultural practitioners with a fundamental understanding of the arts, either through academic study or practical experience.
