Federal Agencies Embrace AI Revolutionizing Operational Efficiency

In a significant step towards innovation, 50 federal ministries and entities are exploring the application of assisted artificial intelligence. A specialized workshop was organized by the UAE government to enhance the efficiency of federal services through advanced technologies. This initiative, driven by directives from the UAE leadership, seeks to transform 50% of government services into models supported by Agentic AI within a two-year timeframe. The workshop involved more than 50 governmental entities and included over 300 experts and officials dedicated to government operations.

On June 10, 2026, during the workshop held in Dubai, the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs assembled key players to kickstart the implementation phase of this ambitious project. Participants collaborated to identify governmental services and processes suitable for integrating assisted artificial intelligence, ensuring these new models align with the UAE’s vision for a more agile and responsive government.

Workshop Objectives and Implementation Plans

During the workshop, which focused on operational pathways and institutional support, the aim was not only to identify services for AI implementation but also to understand and streamline existing workflows in the federal system. This was emphasized by Mohammed Abdullah Al Qrgawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, who stated that the workshop represents a commitment to accelerate the integration of AI technologies into governmental practice, enhancing service quality and efficiency.

Al Qrgawi highlighted, “The UAE is solidifying its global leadership by implementing top governmental practices through the establishment of flexible operational models utilizing the capabilities of assisted artificial intelligence. This is a progressive step in our journey towards governmental improvement.” His statements underscored the transformative potential AI holds, which can expedite task completion and optimize decision-making processes.

Enhancing Government Collaboration

Mariam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Cabinet, spoke about the collaborative nature of the project, which seeks to eliminate barriers and achieve a monumental leap in the UAE’s governmental operations. By curating a clear catalog of governmental processes, the initiative allows for targeted transformations into assisted artificial intelligence models, designed to significantly improve public services.

She further mentioned the establishment of ten key operational domains analyzed during the workshop. This initiative witnessed the active involvement of over 140 officials from various federal entities, encompassing areas such as human resources, procurement, and digital transformation, all vital for the successful application of AI in the government sector.

Future Governmental Models

Mohammed bin Talai, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange, presented the envisioned governmental framework for the near future. This model aims to help governmental bodies identify high-priority services that would benefit most from assisted artificial intelligence. The goal is to maximize positive outcomes for all societal segments, ensuring that innovation drives enhanced government service quality.

The workshop concluded with attendees discussing criteria for prioritizing processes for transformation based on complexity, transaction volume, and potential impacts on costs and user satisfaction. Each governmental entity was tasked with selecting a service or process to pilot within 90 days, emphasizing readiness for the transition to AI-assisted operations.

The comprehensive schedule will unfold in three key phases: discovery, design, and execution. Through methodical progress over the next three months, the initiative aims to ensure that the selected services accurately reflect the anticipated outcomes of implementing assisted artificial intelligence.
