Thirty Nations Unite for 2026 Latin America Caribbean Dialogue

In a significant development for international governance and collaboration, the “Global Summit on Governments” will convene representatives from 30 countries for the “Latin America and Caribbean Dialogue 2026.” This crucial event aims to foster dialogue and cooperation across Latin America and the Caribbean, hosted in the scenic locale of Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, on November 20 and 21. Spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and under the patronage of Dominican President Luis Abinader, this summit promises to gather high-level officials, business leaders, investors, and representatives from international organizations to discuss pressing global issues.

Strengthening Ties Between the UAE and the Dominican Republic

The second iteration of this summit reflects the growing strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the Dominican Republic. This initiative follows the strategic agreement declared during the previous “Global Summit on Governments” in 2026, aimed at expanding cooperation and establishing the summit as a leading international platform for fostering relationships between the UAE and nations across Latin America and the Caribbean.

President Luis Abinader emphasized the significance of this summit, stating, “The Dominican Republic is honored to host this regional dialogue, which reaffirms our strong commitment to being a platform that brings together growth, innovation, and cooperation among the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and the world.”

A Platform for Future Cooperation

Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the “Global Summit on Governments,” remarked that the relationship between the UAE and the Dominican Republic serves as an advanced model for positive international partnerships based on mutual development and shared visions. He noted, “The dialogue at the ‘Global Summit on Governments’ in Latin America and the Caribbean serves as a strategic platform for translating common ambitions into cooperative pathways and effective projects that benefit societies.”

Moreover, Mohammed Yusuf Al Sherehan, Director of the summit, highlighted the importance of this dialogue, stating, “Hosting the summit in the Dominican Republic exemplifies the strategic relations between the UAE and Latin American and Caribbean countries, reinforcing collaborative efforts in economic development, innovation, and sustainable growth.”

Extensive Participation and Comprehensive Agenda

This upcoming dialogue is set to feature a diverse group of participants, with over 70 speakers from governments, the private sector, academic institutions, and international organizations. More than 30 countries from Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and beyond will be represented, alongside over 120 companies and organizations from the private sector. The agenda includes 35 sessions addressing strategic, economic, technological, and governmental priorities, alongside 15 high-level meetings aimed at fostering partnerships and actionable outcomes, focusing on critical areas such as geopolitical economics, tourism, and human capital.

The event is organized in collaboration with the “Global Summit on Governments,” the Dominican government, and the Center for Public Policy Analysis (CAPP). Prominent institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Latin American and Caribbean Development Bank (CAF) are also part of this initiative, emphasizing the summit’s goal of creating a global platform for dialogue and cooperation.

The first iteration of this summit, held in the Dominican Republic in 2025, was a pivotal moment in regional and international cooperation, uniting representatives from 22 countries and fostering discussions on vital topics concerning the future of governance and economic transformation. With the upcoming “Global Summit on Governments” dialogue, the emphasis on sustainable and innovative solutions aligned with a forward-looking agenda is more critical than ever.

As preparations for the “Latin America and Caribbean Dialogue 2026” unfold, anticipation for productive discussions that will explore innovative partnerships and solutions continues to grow, setting the stage for meaningful collaborative efforts in the future.
