Embracing the sea, the emirate of Sharjah has launched an exciting initiative called “30 Days of Marine Adventures and Activities in the Emirate of Sharjah,” bringing together young enthusiasts in a series of marine sports and activities. This program is designed to inspire youth, encourage skill development, and foster a love for marine sports, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sharjah’s picturesque coastline.
Marine Activities Exhibition
The Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, in collaboration with the Sharjah Sports Council, the Ministry of Sports, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), and Sharjah Youth, launched a series of events lasting 30 days as part of “Sharjah Summer – Our Unique Vacation.” These events saw the participation of over 400 young individuals, helping to develop their skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Coastal Journey
The events began at Al Hira Beach in Sharjah, where participants enjoyed various challenges such as kayaking, windsurfing, and beach games. The program lasted for two weeks, after which activities moved to Al Hafiya Lake in Kalba. There, training sessions in land paddling, kayaking, and sailing were organized, along with educational workshops to enhance marine skills.
Comprehensive Training Programs
In Dibba Al Hisn, the club focused on providing training programs in an indoor pool, teaching rescue techniques, swimming, as well as the fundamentals of paddling and sailing principles. All courses were conducted under the supervision of professional trainers, significantly enhancing the quality of training.
Conclusion in Khorfakkan
The events will conclude in Khorfakkan from August 3 to 21, 2025, featuring a variety of marine activities such as kayaking and paddling. This program aims to attract more youth from various cities in the emirate and reflects Sharjah’s commitment to promoting marine sports as an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.
Appreciation and Success
His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, expressed the success of the summer program “Sharjah Summer – Our Unique Vacation,” praising the significant turnout from youth and their parents. He emphasized that “this initiative aims to instill a love for marine sports in the hearts of young people and provide a platform to discover new talents.”
Al Midfa also highlighted the importance of collaboration with local and federal entities, stating: “We have provided a safe and encouraging environment for teaching new skills and enhancing self-confidence among youth.” He confirmed that these activities are part of a strategy aimed at building a conscious and capable generation in marine fields, ready to represent the UAE on international platforms.
