More than two thousand children took part in البيت الإماراتي, a heritage initiative designed to bring Emirati culture to life through hands-on learning, traditional activities and immersive experiences. The program, run by Sharjah Children under the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, offered young participants a closer look at the customs, values and symbols that have shaped the UAE’s identity. With workshops, interactive spaces and cultural activities, البيت الإماراتي turned heritage education into an engaging experience for children and families alike.

البيت الإماراتي continued to strengthen children’s connection to the nation’s heritage through a learning model that combines knowledge with practice, introducing young audiences to the UAE’s cultural elements and longstanding values in creative and accessible ways.
During 2025, the initiative recorded a strong impact, reaching 2,640 boys and girls through 19 specialized programs and 742 workshops focused on national identity and heritage. Those activities helped children better understand the country’s legacy while reinforcing pride in it through a range of practical and interactive experiences.
The initiative is centered around a permanent heritage corner inside Sharjah Children’s centers, designed to resemble the traditional Emirati majlis. The space includes artifacts and displays that reflect details of everyday life in the past, allowing children to explore customs, traditions and heritage practices in a setting built for discovery. It also gives them the chance to identify traditional tools, learn their names and uses, and understand the social and cultural importance of the majlis, while developing language, cultural awareness and communication skills.

The program also offers a wide selection of workshops and activities that introduce children to different aspects of Emirati heritage, including falconry, Emirati cuisine and traditional dishes, handicrafts, and storytelling arts inspired by the past, in cooperation with a number of specialist entities. At the same time, the foundation encourages children to wear traditional Emirati dress during heritage events and activities, deepening their connection to customs and traditions and making the learning experience feel more immediate and memorable.
Khola Sharif Al Hawi, Director of Sharjah Children, said that introducing children to cultural and social heritage from an early age helps build confident personalities grounded in national identity. She noted that البيت الإماراتي presents Emirati heritage through interactive methods that allow children to experience aspects of their grandparents’ lives and learn about the values and traditions that helped shape Emirati society. She added that the organization will continue developing programs that support this direction in partnership with families, in line with the UAE’s declaration of 2026 as the Year of the Family.
