ودّ Crowned Best Stallion at Al Marmoom Festival

The final stages of the Al Marmoom Festival have brought thrilling excitement as the races for «ودّ» and «البصير» take center stage, showcasing standout performances in the camel racing competitions. The event features the finest camels from the elite stables of the sheikhs, demonstrating remarkable speeds and strategic breeding. As the contestants raced over eight kilometers, both «ودّ» and «البصير» delivered stellar performances, raising the bar for this year’s event.

Historic Wins for «ودّ» and «البصير»

The opening race for female camels saw «ودّ» from the Al Shihaniya stable claim victory under the expert handling of trainer Salem Farhan Al Marri. Completing the race in a remarkable time of 12:17.1 minutes, «ودّ» not only secured the top position but also set the best time in the evening heats. The performance of «ودّ» epitomizes the excellence expected at the festival.

Dominance by Al Shihaniya

Continuing their dominant presence, Al Shihaniya further showcased their prowess as «البصير» secured victory in the second race, once again under the guidance of Salem Farhan Al Marri, clocking in at 12:32.6 minutes. The consistent performance from these camels reflects the dedication and strategic breeding practices of the Al Shihaniya team, establishing them as formidable competitors in this year’s festival.

Competitive Spirit Amongst Elite Stables

The competition was not limited to Al Shihaniya, as other elite stables made their mark as well. The Al Asifah stable showcased «الشاهينية» in the third race, achieving victory with an impressive time of 12:19.8 minutes, trained by Ghiath Al Hilali. In the fourth race, Al Shihaniya’s «أساطير» also delivered a stellar performance, finishing in 12:27.0 minutes, further solidifying their presence at the festival.

Looking Ahead to Future Races

The excitement doesn’t stop here, as attention turns to the upcoming races tomorrow. The focus will shift to the 2026 Al Marmoom Festival, where competitors in the 13-15 age category will take to the racetrack in a bid for glory and substantial cash prizes. The event will feature 18 morning heats, with the first eight dedicated to production camels, while the afternoon will see 16 heats, culminating in six prestigious races, including the coveted championship prizes.
