The participation of the UAE in the Beijing International Book Fair has provided a vibrant showcase of the nation’s cultural progress, notably through the “البيت الإماراتي” initiative. Organized by the UAE Embassy in Beijing in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, this pavilion attracted thousands of visitors interested in the rich cultural landscape of the UAE. The success of “البيت الإماراتي” illustrates the country’s commitment to enhancing cultural exchange and fostering international relationships, particularly with China.
An Insight into UAE’s Cultural Landscape
Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hamadi, the UAE Ambassador to China, praised the impact of the UAE pavilion at the 2025 Beijing International Book Fair. He emphasized that it provided a comprehensive view of the UAE as a leading nation in cultural and intellectual fields, further enhancing bilateral ties with China. Al Hamadi highlighted how “البيت الإماراتي” successfully showcased the cultural diversity and the intellectual renaissance currently unfolding within the UAE.
Strengthening Cultural Connections
The visit to “جناح البيت الإماراتي” by Li Shouli, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of the propaganda department, underscores the robust cultural relations between the two nations. Shouli explored various sections of the pavilion, received detailed insights into prominent Emirati publications on display, and learned about collaborative cultural projects. He commended the innovative presentation and coordination of the UAE pavilion, reinforcing the idea that “البيت الإماراتي” serves as a bridge between cultures.
A Platform for Peace Initiatives
Furthermore, the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace participated in the Beijing International Book Fair as part of “البيت الإماراتي.” This involvement marked a significant opportunity for the forum to showcase its major projects and publications that advocate for a culture of peace and mutual understanding between peoples. The forum presented a collection of peer-reviewed academic works and specialized publications, along with documents addressing peace issues, translated into Arabic, English, and Chinese. Its interactive space within the fair allowed visitors to engage in discussions concerning contemporary visions for fostering dialogue and tolerance.
