Unprecedented Achievements in Culture

The latest edition of “الرافد” opens with an announcement from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, regarding the completion of the “Mausoleum of Rhetorical Interpretation of the Quran.” This monumental project spans 68 volumes and represents an unparalleled scholarly achievement in its field. His Highness also revealed ongoing work on “Dar Al-Hadith” in the University City, alongside the launch of new encyclopedias, including the “Encyclopedia of the Quranic Word” and two new specialized reading methodologies, as well as an annotated version of the Quran.

Enhancing Educational Excellence

During this meeting, the council approved strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Sharjah’s burgeoning universities. These developments focus on improving academic performance, adopting innovative educational technologies, and expanding global partnerships, ensuring that the outcomes of higher education are aligned with community needs and job market demands.

Sharjah: A Capital of Publishing and Children’s Literature

The magazine dedicates space to the emirate’s efforts in bolstering the book and publishing industry, specifically highlighting Sharjah’s participation in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The event featured Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi announcing the launch of the 18th edition of the International Prize for Arabic Children’s Literature. Additionally, Sharjah is set to host the International Conference of the Council International for Young People’s Books in 2030, marking the first occasion this event is held in the Arab world, under the theme “Stories That Change the World.”

Promoting Literary and Cultural Dialogues Across the Arab World

“الرافد” does not overlook Sharjah’s vibrant poetry scene, encompassing activities from various poetry houses across Arab cities. The magazine captures the essence of poetry evenings and critical seminars that have unfolded in Sharjah, Kairouan, Nouakchott, Luxor, Marrakech, Tetouan, and Mafraq, featuring distinguished poets and critics.
