Four female researchers graduated from the programme: Nawal Al Ketbi, Rania Al Hakim, Lina Sahnoun, and Salam Dakk Al Bab. They joined the university’s general graduation ceremony alongside graduates from other postgraduate programmes.

A four-year academic partnership

The four-year programme is one of the clearest examples of the academic and research partnership between the two universities. It awards graduates a joint doctorate from the University of Sharjah and the University of Lübeck, and includes a period of study at the German university to complete the academic and research requirements needed for the degree.

The programme aims to prepare qualified researchers in molecular medicine with advanced knowledge and research skills, contributing to the development of medical sciences and the advancement of scientific research systems in line with the highest international academic standards. It also reflects the depth of scientific cooperation between the two universities.

Messages from university leaders and graduates

The ceremony featured an official address by the President of the University of Lübeck, Professor Dr Helge Braun, as well as remarks from several academic leaders and programme supervisors, who underlined the importance of scientific cooperation between universities and its role in preparing research talent capable of meeting future challenges in the healthcare sector.

The graduates expressed their gratitude to the University of Sharjah for providing a supportive academic and research environment, praising the fruitful collaboration between the two universities, which gave them valuable opportunities to learn and conduct scientific research within an international academic setting and according to the highest global standards.

Dr Zainab Al Sharif said the programme embodies the distinguished academic and research partnership between the two universities and contributes to preparing qualified research cadres capable of helping advance medical sciences and strengthen the research system.
