Taaleem Holdings Sees 14% Drop in Q1 Earnings

The recent financial report from “تعليم القابضة” reveals a notable decrease in their net profits for the first quarter of the 2025-2026 academic year, marking a 14% decline compared to the same period last year. As the company navigates increased financing costs and exceptional transactions from the previous year, it continues to achieve growth in operational revenues. This article delves into the financial performance of “تعليم القابضة,” providing insights into the factors influencing this downturn and the ongoing trends in their educational initiatives.

The net profit of تعليم القابضة, listed on the Dubai Financial Market, decreased by approximately 14% year-on-year during the first quarter of the 2025-2026 academic year. The company reported 71.3 million dirhams (after tax deductions, including Kids First Group) compared to 82.8 million dirhams in the first quarter of the 2024-2025 academic year.

The company attributed this decline to rising financing costs associated with growth initiatives and recent expansions, along with the impact of an exceptional transaction recorded in the first quarter of the previous academic year.

Growth in Operational Revenues

Despite the drop in net profit, the company reported a 20.9% year-on-year growth in operational revenues, reaching 369.9 million dirhams during the first quarter of the 2025-2026 academic year. This growth was driven by an increase in the utilization rate of capacity in premium schools, which reached 78.3%. This occurred despite a 10.5% year-on-year increase in capacity at these premium schools, reflecting strong demand, with a total of 23,848 seats available in the first quarter of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Student Enrollment Increases

The enrollment rate in premium schools rose by 12.8% year-on-year, reaching 18,683 students, which led to a 1.6% improvement in the utilization rate of capacity compared to the previous year, now at 78.3%. According to the company, this improvement reflects the continued acceleration of growth and increased operating rates in schools that have been recently launched or expanded, confirming the operational appeal of its school portfolio.

While challenges mounted for “تعليم القابضة” in the first quarter, the new figures reflect a positive trend in student numbers and revenues. With a focus on improving educational services, the company appears well-positioned to face upcoming financial fluctuations.
