UAE International Aid Launches Inspiring “Crafted for Good” Initiative

On 26th August 2026, the UAE International Aid Agency launched the “Made for Good” charter in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, marking a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the coordination and alignment of humanitarian aid efforts on a national level. This announcement was made during the agency’s participation as an official partner in the 22nd edition of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference (DIHAD 2026).

Significance of the “Made for Good” Charter

The charter seeks to foster improved coordination among Emirati humanitarian entities and align their efforts with national priorities. It also aims to establish a collaborative operational model that enhances the efficiency of foreign aid initiatives, amplifying their humanitarian and sustainable developmental impact.

Round Table Discussions

During a round table held at DIHAD, attended by several CEOs, senior officials, and representatives from various Emirati humanitarian and developmental organisations, significant discussions took place regarding the importance of integrating and coordinating humanitarian efforts. Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Amiri, the head of the UAE International Aid Agency, emphasised the agency’s commitment to reinforcing a participatory approach that unites the different Emirati organisations involved in foreign aid. This approach aims to create a more integrated and effective national framework for implementing humanitarian programmes, developmental projects, and charitable activities.

Focus on Real Needs

Dr. Al Amiri highlighted the necessity of directing foreign aid towards the actual needs of beneficiary countries and communities, ensuring alignment with global priorities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He remarked, “Our participation in DIHAD featured numerous activities and events, enabling visitors and international organisations to learn about the agency’s pavilion, which provides valuable information on various foreign aid initiatives originating from the UAE to numerous countries worldwide.”

Key Agreements and Collaborations

The agency also conducted important bilateral meetings and organised round tables to discuss pressing challenges in the humanitarian aid sector. Notably, agreements for collaboration were signed with the Anwar Gargash Diplomacy Academy and the UAE Space Agency, reinforcing shared objectives in humanitarian efforts. The “Made for Good” charter was further endorsed by several prominent institutions, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, the Saqr bin Muhammad al-Qasimi Foundation for Charitable Works, the Sharjah Charity Association, the International Charity Organization, the Dubai Humanitarian Association, and the Dar Al Ber Society. This collective commitment underscores the importance of enhancing collaboration and utilising national capabilities, products, and services effectively.
