The UAE Supports Albania
As part of its ongoing support for friendly nations, the United Arab Emirates has announced its assistance to Albania through humanitarian and developmental aid. These efforts reflect the strong humanitarian approach established by the founding leader, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as the UAE consistently seeks to provide aid to affected countries, regardless of religion or ethnicity. The UAE’s stance in standing alongside Albania during difficult times reaffirms its steadfast commitment to humanitarian principles.
Embodiment of Humanitarian Values
Through the visit of the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the Republic of Albania, bilateral relations between the two countries have been strengthened. The Albanian Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama, echoed the warm words spoken by His Highness: “My brother… you and your people are not alone.” These statements reflect the UAE’s commitment to supporting Albania during challenging times, providing hope to its people following the devastating earthquake that struck the country.
Efforts of the UAE Rescue Team
Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is striving to provide further support to Albania, with the UAE rescue team efficiently working to control the wildfires that have swept through several areas. These efforts include specialized aerial operations, with the team conducting flights using “Black Hawk” helicopters in disaster relief operations. These missions have resulted in hundreds of precise water drops on fire hotspots, significantly contributing to extinguishing the flames.
Results and Challenges
The UAE rescue team has executed over 419 water-dropping missions to extinguish the wildfires in Albania, utilizing approximately 734,000 kilograms of water. Despite challenges related to high temperatures and difficult terrain, the team has demonstrated determination and professionalism in carrying out its assigned tasks. In follow-up to these operations, Major General Awad Said bin Musleh Al Ahbabi, Commander of Joint Operations, visited Albania to assess the situation and highlight the efforts made by all participants.
