UAE Strengthens Security Amid Rising Threats to Stability

The members of the Federal National Council have reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to being a nation governed by the rule of law, firmly rejecting any threats to its security. Recent efforts by state authorities to uncover and thwart plots endangering the safety and sovereignty of the UAE illustrate an advanced level of security preparedness and institutional integration. The message is clear: the UAE is steadfast in establishing itself as a law-abiding nation that will not tolerate any infringement on its security or sovereignty.

Unyielding Stance Against False Accusations

Council members emphasized that those who accuse the UAE of arms trafficking to Sudan are often the very individuals implicated in such acts, stating, “The same person who hurls accusations at the UAE for exporting arms to Sudan is the one exporting them and is responsible for the unfortunate suffering of the Sudanese people.” They further highlighted that the UAE has opened its doors to investors and companies, providing ample business facilitation while maintaining vigilant oversight to counter individuals who may seek to harm the country, its leadership, or its people.

Saeed Al-Aabdi, Chair of the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, noted, “The UAE has welcomed investors and businesses, facilitating their growth for mutual benefit. However, it is naive to think that this will come without strict monitoring.” He asserted that the UAE’s commitment to providing investment opportunities is paralleled by its rigorous oversight of any actions that may harm its reputation.

Assertive Legal Framework

Dr. Moza Al-Shuhi remarked that the details emerging from the case against the accused underscore the vigilance of judicial and security agencies in safeguarding the nation’s security and international reputation. “This highlights our strict adherence to the rule of law and our commitment to combating activities that threaten national security or violate regulations concerning military trade,” she explained. The referral of the case to the State Security Court serves as a deterrent, reinforcing the principle of legal sovereignty and the zero-tolerance approach to infractions.

Comprehensive Security Strategies

Naima Al-Sharhan pointed out that the UAE has established an exemplary model for national security, combining stringent legislation, institutional efficiency, and modern technology. “The recent identification and thwarting of plots against the state illustrate our advanced readiness and institutional integration, affirming that the UAE is firmly establishing itself as a rule-of-law country that rejects any violations,” she stated. With the complexities involved in this case, including the use of commercial and financial fronts to smuggle military shipments, the need for top-tier monitoring and legislative systems is evident.

Unified Front Against Threats

Aisha Khamees Al-Duhani remarked that the discovery and referral of a network involved in military-related activities is a testament to the responsiveness of justice institutions and the firmness of the law. “The UAE is steadfast in combating illicit activities, particularly those linked to weapon trade and illegal funds that could perpetuate conflicts and undermine security in neighboring countries,” she affirmed. This relentless commitment to uphold order not only serves legal purposes but also encompasses moral and humanitarian responsibilities towards the stability of the broader region.

As emphasized by Walid Falah Al-Mansouri, protecting the nation is a non-negotiable duty, affirming that “such unacceptable acts are a threat to all national laws and customs.” He praised the diligence of security forces in countering disruptions to peace and called for strict legal action against anyone found culpable, promoting the principle that “the rule of law applies to everyone.”

Hsheema Al-Afari reiterated that the dismantling of a transnational criminal network sends a strong message that the UAE will not tolerate threats to its security or exploitation of its economic environment. “This case is not simply a legal procedure; it embodies a clear message that the UAE possesses an advanced security and legal framework capable of identifying and tracking down complex networks, regardless of their methods or international connections,” she concluded.

Salem Raeshed Al-Muftool added that the UAE’s doors remain open to individuals and investors who respect its laws and do not disrespect its people or institutions. “Anyone attempting to exploit the safety and stability afforded by the UAE for unlawful activities will be monitored and held accountable,” he stated, emphasizing that vigilance and comprehensive investment in security systems are key to maintaining the state’s robust legal and social framework.
