Activities organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council at the “City of Sport and Vitality” within the Sheikh Zayed Summer Festival 2026, which continues in Al Wathba until next August, have drawn strong interest and notable attendance from boys and girls across different age groups.
The events, which are supervised by the council, include chess and racket sports, electronic shooting, archery, football, judo, jiu-jitsu, basketball, table tennis, yoga sessions for women, and winter games. They have also been widely appreciated by parents, who value their role in promoting a culture of physical activity.
Promoting sport and awareness
Saeed Al Muhairi, Director of the Community Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the festival serves as an integrated platform for raising awareness of the importance of sport, thanks to its advanced infrastructure, modern facilities and motivating atmosphere that give students the opportunity to practise sport, refine their abilities and explore specialised and Olympic sports.
He added that every effort is being made to provide the best conditions for achieving the festival’s goals during the summer period, alongside initiatives designed to encourage participants from different age groups.
Strong partnership support
Al Muhairi also said the significant efforts made by the participating clubs and partners have had a major impact on achieving the best possible results, in a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment that combines sport, entertainment and skills development, while helping participants of all categories improve and develop their abilities.
